This book is written by a Karen mother and son who immigrated to the United States from Burma as refugees. They compare many aspects of their different lives, including education, food, dreams and more.

This book was created as part of a Family and Community Engagement project at Crawford Community Center in Aurora, Colorado. Parents and their children participated in an intergenerational storytelling project where they shared stories about life in their home country and learned how to support their child’s success in an American school.
